In 1999, the group joined by keyboardist and backing vocalist David Hodges. With the participation of the band recorded its first full-length album, Origin (2000). All of tools, except for vocals and keyboards were recorded for an album by the Moody, including drums. This CD was released on local label limited edition of 2500 copies, which were completely sold at the concerts of the group. The original recording the album did not have to sell and they have become rarities. Subsequently, Evanescence began to consider this album as a demo, allowing its non-commercial distribution via the Internet.
